Poplar Bluff Senior High Scholarship

The Designing Women Scholarship Program is designed to promote educational opportunities for Poplar Bluff Senior High females. This is a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship separated into two payments ($500 in August and $500 in January). In order to receive the January disbursement, a 2.5 or higher grade point average must be achieved for the first semester. Scholarship applications will become available the first of December and must be completed and postmarked the first of February. Award announcements, for the following school year, will be made by the first of May.

The non-profit Designing Women Foundation is dedicated to the cultural and educational enrichment of girls and women. It promotes literacy and provides scholarships to the financially disadvantaged, regardless of age, race or religion. It seeks to identify, champion and protect girls who are at risk. In addition, it encourages understanding and tolerance by bringing informational programs and speakers to the community. The scholarship program is designed to promote educational opportunities for women who are residents of Southeast Missouri. Scholarships are need and merit-based and are designed to encourage and challenge women to assume leadership roles and professional positions in a variety of careers.
