Technical/Vocational Scholarship

The Designing Women Scholarship Program is designed to promote educational opportunities for women who are residents of Southeast Missouri. This is a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship separated into two payments ($500 at the beginning of year and $500 upon completion of one semester). In order to receive the second disbursement, a 2.5 or higher grade point average must be achieved in the first semester. The scholarship may be used by a graduating PBHS senior, a Poplar Bluff Technical-Career graduating senior, or a Black River Beauty College student entering the cosmetology program.

The $1,000 scholarships are limited to female seniors at Poplar Bluff (MO) High School. This is a confidential form - provided info is used to determine your eligibility for the scholarship.

The non-profit Designing Women Foundation is dedicated to the cultural and educational enrichment of girls and women. It promotes literacy and provides scholarships to the financially disadvantaged, regardless of age, race or religion. It seeks to identify, champion and protect girls who are at risk. In addition, it encourages understanding and tolerance by bringing informational programs and speakers to the community. The scholarship program is designed to promote educational opportunities for women who are residents of Southeast Missouri. Scholarships are need and merit-based and are designed to encourage and challenge women to assume leadership roles and professional positions in a variety of careers.
